MLA Director

Kathy Ristic is a retired professional accountant who joined the MLA board in 2023 and currently serves on the Communications and Membership Committee.

Kathy has been active in Muskoka environmental advocacy for many years, previously serving on the boards of the Muskoka Conservancy and Browning Island Cottagers Association.  Kathy is most proud of successfully helping to transform a golf course development proposal on Browning Island into the creation of a Nature Reserve.  Kathy would like to engage more Muskoka residents in environmental awareness, and has joined the MLA to strengthen its voice for nature across the wider District of Muskoka.

Kathy’s family goes back for over a century on Browning Island on Lake Muskoka, and love of its beauty is in her heritage.  Kathy's great grandmother enjoyed her summers sitting on the beach watching sunsets across the water, and Kathy’s own two children spent their summers playing and learning to swim in the same beach.  Kathy is now living “ice out to ice in” at the cottage.
