MLA Political Involvement
The Muskoka Lakes Association plays an active role in municipal and district affairs, advocating for the interests of waterfront residents and the broader Muskoka community.
We attend council meetings, maintain strong relationships with elected officials, and work closely with municipal and district staff. When the situation warrants, we roll up our sleeves and get more involved, switching gears from monitoring to action.
We care about a number of issues, including:
- Land use planning
- Municipal and district budgeting and spending
- Waterfront property taxation
- Boating safety and transportation issues
- Local regulations and their impact on water quality
- Municipal elections
