Join the Muskoka Lakes Association and Safe Quiet Lakes for an informative webinar exploring the growing impact of boat wakes on our lakes. This session will examine how wake-generating boats affect shoreline erosion, property, wildlife, and overall lake health and enjoyment.
Participants will gain a clearer understanding of wake-related challenges, why the "age" of the lakes matter, and steps we can take for sustainable boating usage to protect the lakes and to keep them healthy.
Presented by Timothy James (Board Director, Safe Quiet Lakes), this webinar will share current research, observations, and practical insights into responsible boating practices. Timothy is a research scientist, project manager, and communicator with a 25-year career encompassing a range of fields in environmental science and conservation. While his established research career is based at Queen’s University, he is also the communications lead for a large European research project at the University of Iceland. He has acted as a consultant and volunteer science advisor for both WWF-Canada and WWF Arctic Program as well as running his own editing business.
The session will also include interactive polling and there will be an opportunity for questions.
