The third annual MLA food drive was a tremendous success; our largest collection ever! The MLA collected over 1000 pounds of non-perishable food items and kitchen necessities such as can openers and reusable tote bags.
This year donations went to the West Muskoka Food Bank, which was established four years ago and serves more and more families every year. Located in Glen Orchard, they not only provide non-perishable foods, but also fresh vegetables from their own garden. In 2014 they served 990 clients in addition to distributing 60 Christmas Baskets to help less advantaged families enjoy a Christmas feast.
We sincerely thank ALL cottagers who took the time to pack their collections and transport them to pick-up locations throughout Muskoka.
We are also grateful to the business that displayed our bins and encouraged their customers to fill them.
Thanks go to:

Thanks also to Bala Cove Marina for matching the value of donations at their location, and Martin Merry Reid for their cash donation as well.
We are proud to be a part of this initiative to give back to our adopted communities. The generosity of cottagers and local businesses truly demonstrates the gratitude you have for your good fortune and your willingness to pay it forward.
Thank you, and Happy Holidays!
