The Marine Team was officially launched in June 1995 with a mandate to promote water safety through common sense and courtesy required for the safe operation of vessels on Lakes Muskoka, Joseph and Rosseau.

The goal of the Marine Team is to promote the safe and courteous operation of vessels on the waters of Lake Joseph, Lake Muskoka and Lake Rosseau. The MLA Marine Patrol works closely with the OPP, however their job is not one of enforcement but education.
